Divemaster course

Our Divemaster internship offer allows you to become a PADI Divemaster
without making major investments.
It takes 5-7 weeks to
complete your Divemaster course. After the course you will work for our dive
center for three months, gaining valuable experience for your future career
in diving. (Other schedules are possible. Please contact us for details)
- The PADI Divemaster
course includes theory and practical sessions but for the most part you
will be diving and assisting our instructors with their courses.
- Prerequisite experience
level is PADI Rescue diver. If you are not yet at this level we can offer
the preceding courses at a discounted level or extend the three month work
period.
- The course is free but
you will be required to work as a dive guide for two months. In the two
month work period your job will be to guide customers on the local dive
sites. Normally you will make two dives in the morning and spend some time
in the shop assisting and booking customers and preparing the dives for the next day.
There is no donkey work involved like washing equipment or handling tanks.
- All mandatory study
materials including Divemaster manual and Encyclopedia of recreational
diving are included.
- Food and accommodation
is not included.
- Since you will be
trained to become a professional diver, each candidate is required to own
a set of equipment (regulator, bcd, fins, wetsuit, mask, computer). If you
don't have your own equipment yet we can offer equipment from several
brands including Mares, Scubapro, Aqualung and Suunto for a discounted
price ( -20%).
- You will gain enormous
experience of the industry in a wonderful tropical environment underwater
as well as on the surface with at least 100 dives by the finish of the
program. We cannot guarantee a paying job with us after the program
however local training makes interns highly employable.
- If you decide to do the
PADI instructor course , we will arrange you a course at a discounted
price in Phuket.
Other requirements;
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Basic English speaking
ability is necessary.
- Diving experience is an
advantage but not required.
- Ability to work in a
team, enthusiasm, motivation.
- We recommend diver
insurance with e.g. Divers Alert Network (basic).
- Doctors’ declaration
that you are fit to dive. (also possible to arrange here in Thailand).

- Complete water skills and stamina exercises.
- 400 meter swim
- 15 minute float
- 800 meter swim with mask, snorkel and fins
- 100 meter tired diver tow
- Training exercises to test organizational and problem solving
abilities
- Assisting Open Water Diver Course (both open water and confined)
- Assisting continuing education courses
- Assisting with supervising certified divers
- Demonstrate the skills of the Open Water Course
- Mapping project
- Stress test (equipment exchange)
- Demonstrate Rescue course exercise

What can PADI
Divemasters do?
- Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at
exotic resort locations
- Assist PADI Instructors with students
- Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
- Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
- Teach PADI Discover Snorkeling programs
- Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers
- Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences
- Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of
an Emergency First Response Instructor course.
